Name of Assignment: 1.7 User Input Subject: Computer Science Facilitator/Teacher: Mr. Murali For this assignment we had to create a computer program on Scratch that asked the user questions. The program would then take the user’s answers and repeat them back, developing a full on conversation, and making the program interactive. The 21st Century Skill I associate this assignment with is Information Skills because Computer Science teaches us about how technology such as computers and handheld devices work. Because we do all our homework on the computer for this class, it teaches us how to research information from reliable sources. To be honest, I’m proud that my code was able to work through multiple trial and error runs, as I had so many corrections to make to the code. It’s fair to say that I’m not tech savvy. I know how to navigate my phone and other devices, and how the apps I have work, but I never understood how the programs that run them work. This assignment helped me to understand how people use the internet in their daily lives and how they look up reliable sources for projects. Getting the program to work was very hard, as I had to make many adjustments to my original code. I wouldn’t do anything differently, I’m happy the way it turned out, and happy that it works. In the past, I took computer science as an elective. I learned from there about how computers run and what type of programs people use. This Computer Science course is similar , but we’re using Scratch instead of CodeSkulptor. In the future, I can look back at my past code and see how it was that I got the result I did.
