KCNN is an ongoing assignment for my media and tech class. Every couple weeks, we put out an episode that the advisories watch on Mondays and Fridays. My two segments are Announcements and Watch it or Don't Watch it. Announcements appears in every episode, and for that segment, me and my partner, Anu, go to the teachers, and ask if there is anything that they want to announce. After filming the segment, I then edit it, and send it to our editor who arranges the episodes in a certain order. Watch it or Don't Watch it is a review segment where I describe a film or tv show that she hasn't seen, and based off my description, she says if she'll watch it.
The 21st century skill that I associate with this project is Information Skills. A lot of the work that I do for this class is online. Usually, the episodes are filmed on Anu's phone, and then she airdrops them to me. I edit our segment in imovie, and then I upload it to the google drive that we have for KCNN. The scripts for the segments are also written online in a google doc.
I am proud that I meet the deadlines of the class on time, and also of the editing that I do on the segments. My favorite segment that I've worked on is Watch it or Don't Watch it, where me and Anu reviewed Pirates of the Caribbean. The script had witty remarks, and I loved filming with Crackers the opinionated parrot (even though he was a stuffed animal).
The most difficult thing about this assignment was that I would sometimes have issues uploading the segment to the google drive. Usually I upload the videos from my phone, and sometimes I run into the problem of having little storage on my electronic. However, I usually work around this though, and clear up a decent amount of space in order to submit the video.
